Mary Berry, perhaps the Aga’s biggest advocate to date, declares that owning an Aga is 'like joining the best club in the country - when you meet another Aga owner it is like discovering an instant friend.’
Image: https://www.agaliving.com/blog/mary-berry-shows-us-round-her-new-home
To give you some AGA history, it was originally invented by a Nobel Prize-winning Swedish physicist, Dr Gustaf Dalén in 1922. Having been blinded by an explosion from an earlier invention that went wrong, he decided to turn his attention to designing something to help his wife in her daily life. The cookers during this time were often dangerous, dirty and exceptionally time consuming and so the goal was to invent a clean, economically run, easy to use oven which produced great food with the minimum effort. In doing so, he created the AGA cooker that changed the lives of cooks all over the world.
Invented and initially produced in Sweden, since 1957 all production of the AGA has been located in the UK. In 1956, AGA introduced new colourways to be available alongside the classic cream colour that had been championed for 34 years prior. To compliment these new colours, AGA lid covers were introduced to add the extra pop of colour & pattern, as well as adding insulation to help your AGA's efficiency. These hot plate covers also act as great protection, preventing scratches, food and grease from touching the iconic chrome lids.
During lock down, I decided to add the Aga Hob Cover kitchen accessory to my collection of homewares, and have loved every step of the process. My favourite part is seeing finished products sitting in their new homes on my customers beautiful AGA's.
Featuring the 'BAR', 'Designer Nutcrackers' and newly added ' Champagne & Fizz' designs, these cooker hob covers are perfect for adding some colour to your AGA this summer.
These quirky, hand-painted designs are sure to bring a little cheer to the heart of your home. Pair them up with some of the wonderfully bright Tea Towels for the ultimate AGA makeover.
They are made in the UK and hand-stitched, resulting in a durable, high-quality product. Complete with a loop to fasten them to the AGA top, not only do they look beautiful, they are also practical too! Made from 100% Cotton outer, with a black or natural trim, heat resistant wadding with a flame-resistant towelling back. Approx 37cm diameter to fit a standard round AGA top.
With limited quantities available, the exclusive nature of these hob covers makes them an ideal gift for friends, family, bakers and housewarming gifts. When you add 2 AGA Covers to your basket, you will receive 15% off!
Like Mary Berry says, owning an AGA makes you feel like your part of a special club, where each member shares top tricks and advice on how to use your AGA to the fullest! After talking to many owners, I’ve created a list of hacks to help people make the most of owning one of these kitchen beauties.
Trick 1: Accidentally left the bread out over night? No problem! Revive a stale loaf or baguette by running under a cold tap, and placing the loaf on the floor of the roasting oven for a couple of minutes to revive its fluffy texture. You can also rejuvenate day-old bread or cookies etc by placing them on the rack of the simmering oven. Drop an ice cube on the floor of the oven, and close to the door to allow the steam to hydrate the food.
Tip 2: To loosen tight screw top preserve jars, simply place inverted on the simmering plate for 30 seconds, this will allow the metal lid to expand and may then be easily twisted off using a tea towel.
Tip 3: A trick that I learnt from the exceptional baker behind 'Doughnuts by G' is to place a lemon or lime in the roasting oven for two minutes before squeezing to extract the most juice. This will also give off a lovely citrus aroma within your kitchen. If you are a doughnut fanatic like me, visit www.doughnutsbyg.com to pre-order your box now!
Tip 4: Purchase some Bake-O-glide! This non-stick, non-stain material is amazing and will save a lot of time when washing up. Simply place this material in a tin or tray when cooking, and place in the washing machine once finished! It is also brilliant on the simmering plate for fried eggs, pancakes etc, with no need to clean the top of the Aga. Put a piece of Bake-O-Glide onto the simmering plate, break an egg onto it and close the lid. In about 2 minutes you have a perfect egg, no fat, no frying pan, no washing up. Follow the link below to purchase - https://bakeoglide.kitchen/
Image: https://www.agaliving.com/blog/aga-cooking-hints
Tip 5: Here is an easy solution if your bread tends to stick to your toaster rack- simply pop the rack on the Boiling Plate for a minute to heat up before you put your bread in it. These toasting grids are also great for making cheese toasties as you can op them in the dishwasher straight after - just make sure to dry them! If you haven't had your hands on one of these toast grids, follow the link to purchase! https://www.blakeandbull.co.uk/products/toaster-toasting-rack
Tip 6: A simple solution to humidify your room. Leave a pot of water on the simmering plate to rehydrate air. This is a great tip if you’re feeling a little under the weather! I like to add essential oils into the water to fill the house with the soothing aromas - my favourite being Velvet Rose Oud and Eucalyptus. Follow the link to choose from a variety of lovely essential oils. https://purescented.com/velvet-rose-oud-fragrance-oil/
I hope you have all found something of interest from this blog. Please comment below if you too have learnt a thing or two whilst having your AGA!

]]>In addition to baring the title as the 'Home of Golf', St Andrews is also home to Scotland’s most ancient university - the University of St Andrews, established in 1413. The town is wrapped in gorgeous beaches, including West Sands - the iconic site of Chariots of Fire. It is the rich history and charms of this small town which attracts thousands of visitors every year, and there couldn’t be a more beautiful setting for the Jessica Anderton Designs store. Located at 160 South Street, this shop is found in the heart of St Andrews.
Ahead of opening, the shop was entirely refurbished to create a luxurious and modern retail experience. Handmade cabinets were built with floor to ceiling mirrors installed, stylish and contemporary flooring and cornices were fitted, and the Farrow & Ball colour palette was carefully chosen to achieve a distinctively beautiful aesthetic flowing through the store.
One of the key characteristic quirks of the shop is the theme of the British Bulldog, as seen on the cabinet handles beside the larger bulldog ornament. This is inspired by Jessica’s bulldog called Binky, also found silhouetted as the logo of the brand.
The store displays Jessica’s hand-painted artworks on a wide variety of homeware and lifestyle items, such as Premium Washbags, Tea Towels, Aprons, Aga Covers, Cushions, and more. Also on display are Melt Candles and Anna Von Lipa glassware to provide an eclectic mix of goods for the home.
With unique and contemporary designs printed on the products, there is something to catch the eye of anyone who enters the store. Moreover, the walls are decorated with Limited Edition Prints and original paintings, that can also be purchased for the ultimate centrepiece.
Opening Times & Days: Wednesday-Sunday 11am-4pm

]]>What is a carbon footprint? According to Mike Berners-Lee, a professor at Lancaster University in the UK, It is “the sum total of all the greenhouse gas emissions that had to take place in order for a product to be produced or for an activity to take place. For most consumers in developed countries, these products and activities tend to fall into four principal categories: household energy use, transport, food, and everything else, which is mostly the products we buy, from utensils to clothes to cars to television sets.”
As a small business owner who designs and produces premium products, I understand my responsibility to create a business that is just as sustainable as it is high-quality. Extensive consideration has been given to the manufacturing and packaging of all my products, ensuring that every item is environmentally friendly and is not at detriment to the planet.
The fabric used to produce the majority of my collection, including the Tea towels, Makeup bags, Napkins, AGA covers, Aprons and Double Oven Gloves, are made from 100% Cotton, without the use of any harmful chemicals or substances - boasting a Standard 100 label by Oeko-Tex to certificate this.
.
The bold colours found on the fabric is produced using a purely synthetic ink which does not use any animal products - cutting back on greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, our UK-based fabrics manufacturer does not stock any excess material to prevent wasteful disposal of redundant stock, and all waste fabric from production (very little) is reused in the factory.
Every item in my collection has been designed, printed and sewn in the United Kingdom. No nasty sweatshops and no horrible surprises. Local production enables shipping costs and carbon emissions to be kept at a minimum, as every product is made in facilities across the UK, without the need to ship products across countries & oceans. Supporting UK manufacturers and the British economy is also at the heart of my business.
Designing responsible and sustainable products doesn’t have to be at odds with maintaining a high-standard of goods, and I am proud that my product range is environmentally friendly without sacrificing an inch of the quality which customers have come to expect.
Some of the selected materials in fact surpass their less eco-friendly alternatives in quality. The textile products mentioned previously for example use sustainable reactive inks which brag a superior rub and wash fastness, and will keep the colours bold and like-new after many washes.
As part of the digital printing process, the fabrics are washed up to 70 degrees to remove any preparation solution and unfixed dyes. The waste water is then processed through an effluent plant and released back to public water treatment processing plants. This ensures ink waste is disposed of properly so nothing leaks into the environment, causing damage.
The material used to produce the Chopping boards, placemats and drinks coasters is an ethically sourced eucalyptus wood base as opposed to a powdered melamine formula. These products have a full melamine surface which is an extremely durable, able to withstand temperatures of up to 145 degrees, is easily wiped clean and with very little care, they will give you many years of service. The Melamine is hand produced from start to finish in our UK manufacturers factory and made to order, resulting in minimal waste and a lower carbon footprint. This eucalyptus wood is particularly eco-friendly because of its recyclability - any waste wood from the production can be easily repurposed due to its durability and long-lasting life.
Saving paper is also an important aspect in my business, which is why invoices & receipts are all sent digitally. When packaging an order, I opt to recycle and reuse as much of the paper materials as I can, thus reducing my carbon footprint.
The gift wrapping paper and Christmas cards which feature my signature festive animal designs, is printed using eco-friendly inks onto recyclable paper, a timber sourced from sustainable forests. I am committed to donating 20% of the proceeds from the Christmas Cards directly to the Wildlife Trust, to help protect native species and their habitats across the UK. The Wildlife Trust is a movement made up of 46 wildlife trusts; independent charities (including the Scottish Wildlife Trust) who all share the same vision of a wilder future.
So this product, along with all others mentioned above, is perfect for the individual who loves to embellish their home, spruce up their kitchen, or give a special something to dear one all whilst keeping an eco-conscious mind.

Number 1 on our list is Dried Flower Bouquets which are a wonderful addition to any living space. Unlike fresh flowers, dried flower bouquets can last for years if they are properly cared for, making them a low-maintenance and long-lasting option for those who want to add a hint of nature to their home. This season is adorned with a new set of colours...and we love them! Taking inspiration from Neptunes signature paints, these palettes show you which paints complement each other best, so you can create a layered, harmonious scheme this spring whilst staying on trend!
Paprika, a rich shade of red-orange, is perfect for creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. It pairs well with warm neutrals like beige or brown and can be used as a great bold accent to add some more character to your living space.
Burnt Sienna Orange, a bright and cheerful colour, can bring a burst of energy into any room. It works well as an accent colour in a neutral space or can be used in larger doses to create a bold statement.
Lime, a zesty shade of green, is perfect for adding a pop of colour to a neutral space. It pairs well with other bright colours like pink or yellow and can be used in textiles, accessories, or even as an accent wall colour.
Invite some of these vibrate colours into your home to capture that perfect cosy and motivating aura for the warmer months ahead.
3. Dopamine Décor
An interior design trend that is gaining popularity is dopamine décor. This design trend is all about creating a space that makes you feel positive, energised, and inspired. It's about incorporating elements that trigger the release of dopamine in your brain, which is a chemical associated with pleasure and reward.
Reds and oranges are perfect for releasing this happiness, so why not add some seasonal bold and warm colours to your living space. You can incorporate these colours into your decor through accented walls, furniture, or accessories such as throw pillows and rugs. We love the TANGIER RED STRIPE FRILLY CUSHION by Alice Palmer & Co.
Surround yourself with items that bring you joy and make you feel happy. Whether it's artwork, photographs, or sentimental objects, incorporating these items into your décor can boost dopamine levels and create a space that feels uniquely yours. Surrounding yourself with natural light and elements of nature too can boost mood and productivity. Make the most of your space by utilising reflective surfaces and mirrors to watch your living space glow all evening in the golden hours. On-trend dried flower bouquets or other floral touches can also bring a natural feel to your home.
Overall, interior design trends for 2023 include a range of warm and vibrant colours, low-maintenance floral touches, and dopamine decor that is focused on creating a space that makes you feel good. ]]>Global e-commerce saw an unprecedented explosion in sales during the pandemic, with big companies such as Amazon seeing record sales and monopolising online retail. We are living in times where modern consumerism is prevalent, with price, speed and convenience being the three pain customer priorities in this digital age. Online shopping is not always best, because although it is the cheapest option on paper, the overseas production, transport and delivery significantly contributes to climate change and further worsens carbon footprints all over the world. This is why now is the perfect time to turn our focus on small businesses in the face of multi-billion dollar corporations swallowing all smaller businesses and ruining the planet further.
The wonderful thing about local businesses are that they are run by individual people and not giant corporations, stockholders or algorithms. The experience of speaking to a real-life human makes shopping infinitely more enjoyable and pleasant. Although many chain corporations do have excellent customer service, it is difficult to beat the appeal of a local shop owner adding their own personal touch to the experience. This makes shopping feel unique and personal, rather than something cheap and robotic in the way that online shopping does. Building relationships with local sellers means that shopping becomes less transactional and much more personal.
Shopping local also encourages and sustains tourism, as often it is the smaller shops and businesses that make UK towns so unique, adding to the overall charm and attraction of a place. There are countless examples of this around the UK, including St Andrews, thanks to a variety of local companies thriving thanks to a healthy perception of the importance of independently owned businesses. There is an element of taking part in a British tradition when one shops locally. Unlike other countries in Europe and more broadly, Britain has stubbornly refused to surrender to the encroaching chains that are ubiquitous in British high streets.
By exploring smaller businesses you are part of the fight back against the chains. Independent stores are needed now more than ever as uniformity of hegemonic brands sweep across the streets, innovation and creativity is pushed to the side. Small businesses aren’t always small, it is this ambition that brings customers in, and gives entrepreneurs the springboard they need to reach success. This therefore gives business owners a chance to hold their own in the face of giant companies trying to out run them.
Many businesses have worked together to launch a 'Shop Independent Campaign', which was started by Not On the High Street founder Holly Tucker. Find more information about the movement here!
In conclusion, as local businesses are the backbone of the British economy, they function as the spine and what keeps everything else together. To ignore them or try to prioritise big corporations will not just damage the planet, reduce job opportunities, and fuel global greed, but it will equate to economic self-destruction. People traditionally shop online because of alleged convenience, but what could be more convenient than local! As well as environmental, moral, and personal benefits, all of the above combine to make supporting local entrepreneurs and shop owners the best way forwards.

1. Stop into Balgove Larder to have Tea and Scones
In terms of food, the amount of eating options can be overwhelming upon one’s first google search but allow me to simplify. Right off the bat, I would first stop into Balgove Larder which is located just outside town on the way into St Andrews that is the perfect spot for fuelling up for a day of exploring St Andrews with some brunch or lunch. With wonderful tea and cakes and beautiful attached farm shop, it is a staple of a visit to this town. Balgove Larder serves as an excellent bookend for visits to St Andrews, as you pass it on the way in and out, so it isn’t unheard of to go twice in one day! Morning tea and a scone never disappoint here. However, if you are like me and like to start the day with coffee, you will not be disappointed as there are a multitude of coffee shops in town such as Blacksheep, Newport Bakery, The Old Union, Con Panna, the Canny Soul, and Taste. These are just a few St Andrews favourites to consider if you’re trying to break away from your usual run of the mill Starbucks order. Students and locals alike can be seen with coffee cups in their hands, so if you follow them you will find that there are no shortage of places to try.
2. Try the American Style Fluffy Pancakes at Northpoint Café for Lunch
If you’re like me, fluffy American pancakes will be all you need to hear to go and try them for yourself at one of St Andrew’s most famous lunch spots, where William and Kate allegedly met for coffee when they were students. Follow in their royal footsteps and discover their excellent lunch and brunch options here. Northpoint serves as a staple for students and locals alike to meet with friends for tea and cake or brunch. Cosy lunch places like this are an excellent find when out and about exploring town. It is also conveniently within sight of the sea and the castle, so you know where to wander next.
3. Take a Beach Walk (...or three)
After inhaling a stack of pancakes, I would recommend going out and exploring one (or all) of St Andrews’ three beaches, Castle Sands, East Sands and West Sands. It's not every day that you get to boast that you visited a town this size with more than one beach to stroll on and clear your head! The Castle, Cathedral ruins and the pier are also staples that make up the iconic St Andrews skyline that can be seen for miles around.
The St Andrews Cathedral is my favourite as it was built in 1162, and was the centre of the Medieval Catholic church in Scotland. However in 1559, during the Reformation, a Protestant Mob incited by the preaching of John Knox sacked the cathedral and then burned it. The stones from this destruction were then used to construct the rest of the town which is why you can see them in walls and streets if you look closely around town. While the Cathedral is a very beautiful place to visit, I would only caution that one doesn’t carry any sandwiches or chips in their hands as the seagulls there are known to be vicious.
3. Explore the Home Goods Shops
After strolling on the beach and risking your life with hungry seagulls, perhaps you would want to take shelter and explore the shopping that this town provides! Home goods stores such as Farmore Interiors, Spoiled Life, and of course ourselves at Jessica Anderton Designs are just a few wonderful options! St Andrews is home to many unique shops that are perfect for gift hunting, or for popping into if you spontaneously decide that you are, in fact just like my Mum and that you need a ‘good tea towel!' Plus, supporting small businesses are a great thing to do and makes you feel that you are helping to keep this vibrant town alive. As well as shopping there are cultural things to see such as the Wardlaw Museum which is located on The Scores and the recently refurbished R&A World Golf Museum positioned right next to the famous club house. The Himalayas (St Andrews Ladies Putting Club) lies between the Old Course and the spectacular West Sands, only a ten-minute walk from the town centre. Finally, take a stroll to the town’s famous bookshop Toppings and Co, which is easy to get lost in for hours at a time.
4. Have Dinner Overlooking the Old Course
For golf lovers, St Andrews is a kind of heaven for them as it is the birthplace of the sport and is home to the oldest golf course in the world, The Old Course. There is also the surrounding hotels such as The Rusacks, and the Old Course Hotel, both of which overlook the course itself. Some of St Andrews’ nicest restaurants are located here around the golf course, and if one starts on the Scores and works their way down, they will find a plethora of wonderful dining options available. Examples include the Seafood Ristorante, The Adamson, Rogue, The One Under Bar, and many more. My top favourite however would be the Swilcan Loft Restaurant which is located on the top floor of the Old Course Hotel, and dinner overlooking the golf course seems like a fitting end to a day of exploring with magical town.
I hope that this outline of an idea day of exploring St Andrews inspired you! This town has so much to offer and if your willing to explore you never know what you will find.

]]>The Everhot’s story begins some 40 years ago in Gloucestershire, England when Ossie Goring wanted a heat-storing cooker which gave the room some background warmth. If you are wondering why it is important to exhibit your collection at trade shows, here are a few reasons;
1. It allows you to meet and connect with prospective customers in person. Discussing and showing your products face to face is a great way to connect with a potential buyer, as they get to know and recognise you, which is difficult to do via a telephone call or email. It is also a great way to show the quality of your products if they can physically see and hold it.
2. In a competitive industry, trade shows give you valuable knowledge about new developments in your industry. It is a place to announce your latest innovations and developments which is a great insight for you to know what to improve on.
3. Meet new companies that can help your business grow - not only will you meet prospective customers, but also prospective vendors. You may meet a manufacturer that can create better quality products for you, at a lower cost or a distributor that can help expand your supply chain. Trade shows are a two-sided opportunity for your business.
4. Strengthen your brand image. Trade shows allow you to be just as exposed to potential buyers, as your larger competitors. It is a valuable opportunity to strengthen your brand and establish a leader position in your dedicated industry. It is really important to spend time, plan and invest in an aesthetically pleasing stand, which resonates with your branding (colour, theme, fonts etc), as the goal is to showcase your products and brand in the best possible way. By visiting a trade show prior to entering, this will give you a great insight into what stands work the best in a very busy hall!
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog about the very best trade shows in the UK/Europe. I hope to exhibit my collection in one of these fantastic shows next year, so keep an eye out!
]]>Royal Ascot, the epitome of sophistication and style, has always been a dream event for me. This year, I decided to use my 'Dressage & Race Horses' hand-painted artwork, and create a 100% pure silk dress, using my trusted textiles manufacturer in the UK.
After months of brainstorming and hand-painting, I created a series called 'Dressage & Racehorses', which depicts a range of show horses as well as racing horses dressed in beautiful colourful silks accompanied by their riders.
I used 100% pure silk for the dress as it embodied luxury, comfort, and a natural flow that would complement the artwork. Working with local manufacturers in the London, I ensured that the dress was made with impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
The choice of 100% pure silk not only made the dress a joy to wear but also ensured that the artwork's colours and details truly popped.
The overwhelming response and the interest generated by my dress encouraged me to create a small batch of these dresses in a range of sizes.
Creating my own 'Dressage & Racehorses' dress and wearing it to Royal Ascot 2023 was an unforgettable experience.
Whether it's a day at the races or any special occasion, this dress will be truly unique and memorable.
Note: The limited edition 'Dressage & Racehorses' dresses are available for purchase on my website here. Be sure to secure yours soon, as there are only a few available!

So let’s have a look at options for each, so that we can take your home to the next level this summer.
Starting with wallpaper, whilst a feature wall may not be for the faint hearted, they are an amazing way to bring warmth and colour into a room. Whether you want a hint of colour or a bucketload here are some options that are readily available to purchase, so that you can get your home re-vamp underway ASAP.
Designer Wallpapers (https://www.designerwallpapers.co.uk/osborne-little/wallpaper-album-6/best-in-show.html#natural-ivory-white-wallpaper-tint-7) has an adorable wallpaper called ‘Best in Show’. Which depicts silhouettes of household favourite dogs such as Labradors, dachshunds, alongside and a handful of others. With a black and cream colour palette this is a great option for a more monotone wallpaper that will still provide interest and ignite many conversations.
On the other hand, if you really want to throw some colour at your home Wendy Morrison Design (https://www.wendymorrisondesign.com/shop/wallpaper/) is a great option. A personal favourite is the ‘Phoenix Green Wallpaper’. The amount of colour in this design allows you to have such artistic freedom with the rest of the room. The fine line details provide a fluid movement which draws in the viewer. With this wallpaper the room will never look bland or feel dark. The best news is its currently on offer, so if you are looking for a bright and bold feature wall there is no time like the present!
For a quick splash of colour nothing is easier to add than the humble cushion. From extravagant to a simple trace of colour cushions are a great way to show your personal style whilst adding a bit of fun into the home.
If you don’t want to commit to any wild patterns or textiles HAY (https://www.hay.nl/en/accessories/textiles/cushions/) is the perfect way to add some colour very subtly to your décor. Their ‘Outline cushion’ provides a singular line of colour around the seam, which can be used to elevate a minimalist look.
Glassette (https://glassette.com/products/659294-piata-stripe-large-lumbar-cushion?_pos=2&_sid=1a97013c1&_ss=r) is a Spanish company based in Mallorca who hand-dye all of their cushions. The ‘Piñata Stripe Large Lumbar Cushion’ is a perfect option for those who want to incorporate colour in a simplistic way. The hand-dyed cushion has stripes of yellow, blue, turquoise and a burnt orange. Colours with which you could fashion a phenomenal colour palette, vibrant and bright they are perfect for summer.
If your mindset is that brighter is better, you have to look at Yinka Ilori (https://shop.yinkailori.com/products/ere-cushion). The designer takes her inspiration from her inner-child, and her childhood memories or creating. As expected, this is portrayed beautifully through her geometrically patterned cushions which can bring interest to any chair or sofa on which they are placed. One of my favourites is her ‘Ere Cushion’ which is extravagant and doused with warm tonal colours ideal for the warmer seasons. These cushions are the perfect staple for this summer.
We hope this gives you some ideas on how to add these pops of colour to your home!

]]>Introducing the Everhot Cooker
The Everhot Cooker is a British invention, originating in Coaley Mill, which is a medieval water-powered mill near Dursley in the south Cotswold valleys. It was invented by Ossie Goring in the 1970s as a solution for cooking and heating, whilst being environmentally-friendly. After many prototypes, Ossie enabled his cooker to be powered through the small intermittent flow of electricity from the mill’s turbine and was officially brought to market in 1995.
Today, Everhot cookers’ top electricity usage is only a fraction of that needed by other cookers and they are happy to report that it’s the most energy efficient range on the market, costing typically around £12 to £14 a week to run, with the cooker ready at any time.
Guy Goring (Ossie’s son,) has continued to keep Everhot’s focus on being ecologically sustainable, with its innovative design, without compromising on the quality. Through their use of water power and thoughtful selection of UK-based suppliers, Everhot is committed to preserving the environment as much as they can. The core of their industry remains in the power of the River Cam, which flows into their millpond and lies beneath their showroom.
The Everhot runs off ordinary 13 amp plugs and doesn’t require a flue or a concrete base. The Everhot traditional cooking range features eleven different products in six different sizes, creating possibilities for all styles and sizes of kitchens. The slim versions are a standard cooker size and therefore suitable for flats or small homes, while those looking for the farmhouse four-oven range can choose the larger editions. Now available in a dozen colours including black, burgundy and British racing green, although the current customer favourite is graphite grey. This allows the cooker to match beautifully with other colour schemes within your home.
The Everhot cookers are hand-built to order, with almost all the raw materials, apart from the sheet steel, made in artisan style in Gloucestershire. Being made in Britain using traditional methods may impress those who were disappointed when Aga was taken over by an American company.
Everhot cookers can easily become the focal point of your kitchen, providing a comforting warmth and atmosphere.
Both Everhot and Aga are a fantastic selection of range cookers that you can use in your home today. But there are a few differences...
Oven Temperature - When it comes to AGAs, this cooker comes with four different settings, and these temperatures unfortunately cannot be altered. However, with Everhot, you can adjust the temperature inside the ovens and reach a temperature between 200C and 250C. If you find yourself using the Everhot less often, you have the option to switch its settings to ‘ECO.’ You can control each oven and the hot plate independently and if there is a hot summer, or you are going away on holiday, you can just switch your Everhot to this ‘ECO’ setting. Adjusting the inside the temperature emitted means you will create a more comfortable atmosphere in your kitchen throughout the year. Plus, reducing the temperature helps lower the running costs. Also, all Everhot “i” ranges come with an induction hob that can be controlled independently.
Heat Output - Each AGA will emit approximately 1KW of heat into a room at maximum cooking temperature. As for Everhot ranges, these emit slightly less heat into a room, but in turn, it costs a lot less to run. The cost to run such a range is around 60% less compared to an AGA.
How Long Do Everhot Cookers Last? Everhot is a company that cares about craftsmanship. Their ranges get built by skilled craftsmen using both traditional and modern techniques. If cared for correctly, each are built to last a lifetime. If you decide to move house, but don’t want to part with your faithful Everhot, the company will undertake to move the cooker for you. Another point is, unlike other brands the Everhot does not need specialist servicing.
Dressing Your Everhot
After nearly 9 months of product development, I am so pleased to announce the arrival of my designed Everhot Covers, featuring the best-selling ‘Champagne & Fizz’ artwork. These covers pair beautifully with all Everhot enamel colours, due to the vibrant pops of colour found in the hand-painted design.
Like all products in my collection, these Everhot Covers are professionally hand-stitched in the UK, using a 100% 1/2 Panama Cotton and printed with reactive inks. This printing technique gives extreme colour brightness and saturation, as well as allowing the covers to be machine washable without the risk of the colours or intricate details fading over time. With a flame-resistant terry towelling reverse, these covers prevent the Everhot surface from scratches whilst helping with insulation. The loop attachment ensures the covers are practical by staying in place when lifting and closing the lids throughout the day. Available in 3 different sizes to fit the majority of the Everhot ranges - Sizes: Large (59x46.5cm), Medium (54x 46.5cm), Small (39 x 46.5cm) Simply select your Everhot range and your set will be automatically selected for you (Sold in a pair).
Like the range cooker itself, each cover has been carefully hand-crafted, uniquely design and made to last for years to come. To match these Fizz inspired covers, make sure to take a look at all the other Champagne & Fizz homewares, including the Large and Mini Chopping Boards, 100% cotton aprons, double oven gloves, tea towels, and drinks coasters…to mention a few.
In conclusion, an Everhot never goes unnoticed but it does more than give your kitchen a new focal point - it becomes the hub of everyday life. It sets the tone and provides a comforting background warmth while using less than half the energy of a comparable range cooker.
It’s so versatile and welcoming you’ll wonder how you ever lived without one.

In a busy kitchen, a high-quality tea towel is an essential item. In addition to cleaning, drying, and handling hot plates, tea towels can provide a unique and decorative flair to any kitchen. They make excellent practical gifts and charming keepsakes.
What is a tea towel? A tea towel is a piece of cloth that comes with a woven design or printed pattern for decoration. Unlike your basic and super-absorbent hand or bath towels, tea towels are often made from cotton, linen, or a combination of these two materials.100% cotton is the best material for a soft, absorbent and sturdy dish towel as it has all the properties needed to provide superior performance in the kitchen. They are lint free and have higher absorbency to soak up messes.
Why use tea towels? Tea towels are a simple, beautiful, and sustainable solution to your kitchen needs. Unlike disposable cleaning supplies, tea towels are reusable, versatile, and environmentally friendly.
Why reactive printed tea towels (All Jessica Anderton Designs Tea Towels) are better quality than pigment printed towels.
Reactive inks give superior wash and rub fastness, along with brighter colour yield compared to pigment printing. They also allow the fabric to be machine washed without running the risk of colour fading. Other benefits include a softer feel to the skin and it will be less waxy.
Images show Champagne & Fizz Tea Towel and GIN Tea Towel.
Do's & Dont's; Just like any towel, tea towels still require washing to remove stains and prevent a build-up of bacteria. Immediately after purchasing, we recommend soaking your tea towel in warm water, as this will remove any excess oil left over from the manufacturing process and activate the absorbency.
Avoid fabric conditioner and instead, use detergent when washing your tea towel to retain its absorbency. Using fabric conditioner or fabric softener leaves an oily coating on the towel which becomes water-resistant and makes your towel less absorbent. To dry, simply hang your tea towels on a washing line or clothes horse. Although our tea towels can be machine dried, try to avoid this as it can harm the fabric over time. Tea towels tend to dry much quicker than other towels as they are smaller and thinner.
Top Tip: Tea towels should be ironed when they are slightly damp so that they can be stretched back into the correct shape.
How to display your tea towel
Tea towels can be displayed in a number of ways, either neatly folded over oven door handles or hung on a dedicated hook to add a splash of decorative colour to complement the overall kitchen interior. They are easy to fold and store neatly in a kitchen drawer if they offer a more functional purpose.
Uses for tea towel;
Give Them as a Gift - Need a special and long-lasting gift? Tea Towels make wonderful presents for weddings or anniversaries as they carry a practical and meaningful sentiment.
Framing your Tea Towel - Treat your tea towel like a piece of art. Displaying your decorative tea towel in a frame or as a wall hanging can freshen and brighten your home. Before framing, ensure your towel is wrinkle-free by ironing or steaming it as flat as possible to remove creases. As mentioned above, ironing when slightly damp can ensure it stretches back to normal shape.
Cooling Baked Goods - Can’t find a cooling tray in your kitchen? Your tea towel will do just fine. Gently place your hot baked goods on a clean towel to cool them down. Alternatively, keep them warm by wrapping them inside the tea towel.
Cover Bowls of Rising Bread Dough - Rather than covering your rising dough with cheap plastic wraps, use a tea towel! This fabric is reusable and better for the environment.
Keep Mugs and Bowls in Place - Whether you’re drinking a cup of fresh coffee or having your morning cereal, tea towels make a great serving accessory. They help hold cups and bowls in place, as well as catch any spills and drips that could stain your table.
Hold Hot Pots and Pans with Ease - Of course, ideally, you have your Champagne or GIN Double Oven Glove nearby, but when a hot plate needs wrangling in a pinch, a tea towel does the trick. Just make sure you fold it two or three times to get maximum heat protection!
Image shows Champagne & Fizz Double Oven Glove
Breathe Life to a Dull Bathroom - Impress your guests and improve the look of your home by hanging decorative tea towels instead of regular hand towels. Design tip: Choose a tea towel with a colour that matches the overall motif of your bathroom.
Decorate the Kitchen Table - Beautify your kitchen by using tea towels in place of the standard cloth napkins or table placemats. Our colourful and intricately designed tea towels bring energy and life to a lunch or dinner event. Alternatively, the Champagne & Fizz Placemats and Dining Set are perfect for giving your dining area a new lease of life.
Drip Drying Glasses - Of course, you use tea towels to dry the dishes, but you can also use one just to let glasses drip dry. We like to fold a tea towel in half and place it on a Jessica Anderton Designs BAR Tray to create a soft (and attractive) landing for our favourite glasses.
Gift Wrap - Wrap it! The Japanese art of furoshiki (wrapping objects in fabric) is a perfect opportunity to not only give two gifts simultaneously but also to get people to marvel at your ingenuity and dexterity. Alternatively, how about wrapping a champagne bottle in one of the best-selling Champagne Tea Towels? This is a unique way of gift-wrapping!
Are you convinced that tea towels can do a lot more than dry dishes? Hear what our customers had to say about their Tea Towels;
"I bought this as a little gift and I am delighted with the vivid colours, fabric and the overall finish. Thank you! I shall be back"
"Really good quality, arrived nicely wrapped and really promptly. It was a present for my best friend but very glad I decided to get one for myself too!"
"Top notch - never thought I’d get excited about tea towels…I bought one of each colour and love them. Beautiful quality and excellent personalised service. Strongly recommended."

For small businesses in particular, they provide a useful tool to increase their visibility, promote their products, engage with customers, and personalise their marketing in innovative ways. Here we will explore some of the biggest advantages to starting pop ups for your small business;
Pop-ups can attract the attention of visitors and increase their awareness of your small business. This is especially helpful if you're a new business trying to establish your brand and gain visibility. Pop-up shops can be set up in high-traffic areas or areas where the target demographic is likely to be. This can increase the visibility of the brand and attract new customers who may not have otherwise discovered the brand. They can further be promoted through social media (hopefully by the department store itself), which can reach a wider audience and help generate buzz and interest for the brand. Jessica Anderton Designs has popped up in multiple large scale retailers, including Harvey Nichols, Fenwick and John Lewis.
2. Brand building
Pop-up stores can be a powerful tool for building brand awareness and loyalty, as they provide a unique opportunity for customers to interact with a brand in a tangible and memorable way. Not only this, but pop-ups can create a sense of excitement and exclusivity among customers, as they offer limited-time products or experiences that are not available elsewhere. They can be used to promote offers, deals, or discounts. This can encourage visitors to become customers by making a purchase, subscribing to a newsletter, or following you on social media. It is also a testament of the success/ popularity of your brand - which is an attractive quality and will give customers confidence in purchasing.
3. Convenient and flexible
Pop-up businesses can be set up quickly and easily and can be moved to different locations or events as needed. This makes them ideal for testing new markets or reaching new customers. Typically, they also have lower overhead costs than traditional retail stores, as they require less long-term investment in rent, fixtures, and staffing. Pop-up shops often feature a curated selection of products or a limited inventory, which can help simplify the setup process and reduce the amount of space required. Additionally, pop ups have the potential to become stocked by the retailer that you are popping up in, which would be beneficial financially due to the potential high stock purchases.
4. Customer engagement
Pop-ups can provide valuable feedback and insights into your customers' needs and preferences, as you will be speaking with them in real time! This can be beneficial to understanding your target market and customer demographics as well as test the waters with new customers or products. This can increase the effectiveness of your marketing efforts and build deeper relationships with your customers by answering questions and personalising their experience to build brand loyalty. Pop ups offer a unique opportunity for customers to engage with a brand in a physical space, providing a memorable experience. Entrepreneurs and businesses can interact with customers in a more personalised way, providing one-on-one attention and creating a sense of connection. It can also be used to create a sense of community among customers, bringing people together around a shared interest or cause.
I hope this blog post will encourage you to reach out to retailers to set up your own pop-up. We work with a great business called The Great Brand Exchange who is here to help you design, curate and deliver an experiential version of your brand that’ll leave a lasting impression on store visitors and buyers!
Jessica Anderton Designs will be popping up at the iconic Peter Jones in Sloane Square London this July. More details to follow!

]]>Pinterest, a now multi-billion-dollar company was founded in 2009 by Evan Sharp and Ben Silbermann, in San Francisco, California. The co-founders created the platform with a twofold mission, explained here by Evan Sharp; “The first half is to help people discover things they love. The second half is to enable people to go out and act on those things, to make them actually part of their life.” In essence the aims are enacted through inspiring people whilst also making those inspirations more attainable.
In order to see how successful Sharp and Silbermann have been in achieving their aims you can look at the engagement that Pinterest.com receives. In the first quarter of 2022 Pinterest.com had 433 million monthly users, by the end of 2022 this had increased to 450 million. One more 57% of these accounts are active and visited each week, prompting one to ask what is drawing back all of these millions of people?
The content on Pinterest may be the key to its success. Boasting over 100 billion, recipes, blogs, outfit ideas and more, Pinterest has a vast amount of content for its audience to take inspiration from. Food content creator Gaby Dalkin says that she turns to Pinterest anytime she has a free moment for example, “on an airplane or idling in the back of an Uber” allowing Pinterest to inspire her cooking for the next couple days. Dalkin even goes so far as to compare the inspiration she gets from Pinterest to a shot of caffeine.
The success of Pinterest.com is not only good for the co-founders but also for marketers who promote products on the website. Between 2020 and 2022 revenue of items sold on the website has increased from $1.6 billion to $2.6 billion. With so many people frequently visiting Pinterest.com, blogs, clothes, and décor get so much more exposure than they would if they were to be exclusively advertised on their prospective websites.
Overall, Pinterest.com according to its own website is a “visual discovery engine for finding ideas like recipes, home and style inspiration”. Through its vast database of products, businesses as well as consumers can find inspiration and come closer to achieving their aspirations.

]]>Tablescaping is used to elevate your entertaining experience by combining beautiful items, that compliment each other and set a special ‘mood’. Hosting a successful dinner party is about so much more than simply the starter, main course and dessert.
We have all had to figure out new ways to host and make each dining experience new and interesting. As large, over-the-top dinner parties remain off the cards, it looks like the smaller, exclusive events will be here to stay for a while.
The act of creatively arranging a table so that it conveys a specific mood is something I love to do, and have done since a young girl. Over the last year, I have created collections of premium homewares, all inspired by my original artwork. These homewares range from festive table runners, to intricately designed drinks coasters, trays and colourful table placemats. As my range expands, I cant wait to start incorporating these into eccentric tablescapes.
What does a tablescape look like?
Tablescaping can include a table runners or cloths, placemat settings, drinks coasters, centrepieces, flowers, candles and other signature items dedicated to the overall theme. Every embellishment is carefully selected to compliment the other items and should make sense within the overall design.
Tablescapes can be centred around particular dates, for example Valentine’s Day, Easter and the Festive season. You want to move past the white plates, glasses and plain silverware by including decoration, pattern and colour to your dining table. Not only will this make your setting appear more welcoming to friends and family but it will create something special, interesting and memorable.
What items could I add to my tablescapes?
Here are a few items that I have used in the past to make a stand out tablescape;
While it may encompass all of these elements, it is important to know that a tablescape is much more than a simple vase of flowers. A successful tablescape will have a universal tone: sometimes it can evoke feelings of happiness or excitement, as well as good memories from previous events.
So how can I achieve a great tablescape?
What ways can I make my tablescape really stand out?
Whilst we cannot wait to be able to entertain family and friends again, this last year has made us truly appreciate the importance of extra efforts when dining at home.

And just like that…December is here and I cannot be anymore excited!
This Christmas season is a particularly special one due to the exciting collaboration I have been working on with the lovely Olivia Rose Emporium, based in Essex, Greater London. Specialising in unique flower boxes, the Olivia Rose Emporium is a brand of heart-warming gestures contributing to peoples life experiences and notable occasions. They strive to offer quality customer service, as well as giving a complete experience for customers by offering commitment and compassion.
Sophie Hyde, the owner of Olivia Rose Emporium is a dedicated professional, with years of experience in floristry and customer service. It has been such a delight to work with someone with such ambition, attention to detail and passion for their profession, as well as being extremely kind and encouraging!
After weeks of many socially distanced discussions, sending drawings back and forth, and posting products thanks to our helpful Royal Mail, we have created something really special for the Christmas season that we hope you will all love.
THE IDEA
I think everyone can agree that one of the most exciting parts of December is the build up to Christmas, including the full transformation of your home by adding all the festive decorations and lights, creating a whole new feel, look and smell to your home.
As most of us are spending more time at home, it is important to have a space where you feel comfortable, cosy and happy, especially at Christmas time. Not to mention that due to the pandemic, it is more important than ever to reach out to friends and family this year, and let them know you are thinking of them!
With these aspects in mind, Sophie and I have carefully curated a Christmas Gift Box, including a beautifully made festive wreath by the talented Olivia Rose Emporium, and a collection of my homeware products, nestled in the centre, acting as a beautiful Christmas present or house warming gift for loved ones.
These best selling homewares include my hand-painted BAR and festive Designer Nutcracker Tea Towels, which are a great way to commemorate a special occasion, as well as simply expressing your artistic taste. Not to mention a great aid for cleaning up after enjoying your favourite Christmas tipple!
Another product included are the BAR Drinks Coasters, which are printed in deep colour with full detail, adding a wash of unique colour and design to your dining table scheme this Christmas. Finally, the BAR & Designer Nutcracker Playing cards are perfect for entertaining guests and will be sure to bring the family together for a game!
Each wreath has been professionally handmade by Sophie in her studio, with focus on a truly natural look, with colourful fruits, twigs and festive foliage - taking inspiration from the colour schemes found in my designed products. I have always had a fascination for Christmas wreaths and have loved the tradition since a young girl, so I was extremely excited when this idea came about!
We wanted to create a product where the customer could have a full experience, by tapping into their senses. Starting with a beautiful visual, and that “What’s in the box?” excitement, followed by a lovely smell of Christmas, allowing the customer to reminisce to previous Christmas years. These boxes offer a truly unique way to present a special gift and we couldn’t be prouder of the outcome.
We envisaged these beautifully coloured and full wreaths to not just be a front door decoration, but to also be used inside the home, such as on the dining table as a centre piece, or a festive feature on a console table. The natural scents from the wreaths will fill your home with amazing Christmas aromas and last throughout the month.
Thank you to the Olivia Rose Emporium for involving me on this exciting project and teaching me all about your interesting business and profession. It has been a great pleasure working alongside another small business from the other side of the UK!

]]>BAR, a repetitive pattern of bottles at the centre of her successful degree show, has now become the inspiration for a stylish range of homeware and her own contemporary design business.
Jessica Anderton Designs focuses on ideas behind contemporary life and consumerism, depicting the beauty in items often overlooked and disregarded. “Ultimately, I want people to feel joyful and gain pleasure when viewing my work. I want to make the viewer look at a commonplace object in an inquisitive way, by seeing something new and fresh,” says Jessie, who graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2018.
“I wanted to create a brand that has truly distinctive, imaginative and uniquely designed products, as well as being comfortable and high quality. Each product in my collection is originally drawn and hand-painted in my Edinburgh studio and manufactured in the United Kingdom.”
To ensure her bespoke products are long-lasting, with superior feel and detail, Jessie is committed to using quality, ethically sourced materials and modern printing techniques, using eco-friendly inks.
The current product range – items of which are available at PAD Lifestyle in Howe Street and its Harvey Nichols concession – includes cushions, tea towels, aprons, wash bags, art prints, lampshades, purses, drinks trays and coasters in different designs.
Over the last year, Jessie, 23, has also exhibited her work at a number of leading galleries, as well as operating a Christmas pop-up at Jenners Edinburgh.
Her most notable career accomplishment to date has been selling three paintings depicting cross-sections of chocolate bars to Mars CEO Grant F Reid, her first patron and a loyal supporter.
